To all Current NPS Members
As per earlier correspondence I sent you and as posted on the Newfoundland Pony web site, the Newfoundland Pony Society will be holding its Annual General Meeting, which was previously planned for November, 2009, now on February 13, 2010 at 2pm in St. John's at the Ramada Inn.
As indicated in my earlier correspondence, Council does not have any previously planned resolutions or consitutional amendments proposed for consideration of members at this time but wants to hold this meeting to bring members up to date and to seek their input with respect to the challenges and opportunities that must be addressed by the Newfoundland Pony Society.
Those in attendance at the meeting may chose to propose any action and these will be voted on during the meeting.
In the event you are unable to attend this meeting and you would like your vote to count on any such resolutions that arise, you can complete a Proxy Form as per Section 6.6 of the Newfoundland Pony Society Constitution.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, you have the option to
i) designate any Current Member of the Society as of November 2009 to vote on your behalf;
OR
ii) designate the President (the undersigned) to vote on your behalf.
OR
iii) not sign the Proxy Form and no vote will be cast.
Voting can only take place if there is a quorum (1/5 of all members with a minimum of 25 members in attendence.)
As has been the case for many years, there are significant issues that have not been adequately resolved to the satisfaction of all members and this continues to hinder the progress of the Newfoundland Pony Society.
Your Council has endeavored to address these matters to the best of its abilities and your continued support is needed.
Therefore I ask that you to give very careful consideration to what action you take.
Regards,
Harry Hutchings
President
Newfoundland Pony Society
