Notice of NPS Annual General Meeting

Dear NPS Members

Please be advised that Newfoundland Pony Society is holding its AGM on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Ramada Inn on Kenmount Road in St. John's NL at 2pm.

This meeting was originally intended to be held in November 2009 but was delayed due to the H1N1 pandemic and other concerns,

The purpose of the AGM meeting will be to:

1. Welcoming new members;
2. Announcing results of the Election of Officers;
3. Presenting a financial statement;
4. Accounting for the activities of the Council;
5. Amending the Constitution;
6. Presenting the work of committees;
7. Providing an opportunity to meet owners/breeders of Newfoundland Ponies and other members of the Society;
8. Discussing issues of concern to members;
9. Providing direction to Council for the upcoming year.

Our Constitution requires:

6.2 Notice of the time, place and date of Annual General Meetings is to be circulated at least 30 days prior to the date of the meeting; any resolutions, Constitutional amendments, financial statements or other information relevant to the meeting shall be circulated at the time of notification.
6.3 A quorum for the purpose of amending the Constitution or passing resolutions shall be 1/5 the number of voting members or 25 voting members, whichever is the lesser number.

Please note there are no resolutions or constitutional amendments currently planned by Council for consideration at the AGM.

I would like to encourage and ask as many members as possible to attend as it is important for you to understand the opportunities and challenges being faced by Council. Your input and direction will be welcomed...

Please monitor the Newfoundland Pony Society web site for any amendments or additional information relating to the AGM.

Please note this meeting is open to only those members of the Newfoundland Pony Society as of November 2009 as this was when the Annual General Meeting was previously planned.

The status of each attendees membership will be confirmed at the door at the beginning of the Annual General Meeting or you can email NPS in advance at the email address below to confirm.
